Kasuka FC down DPMM FC II for BSL title

KASUKA FC defended their Brunei Super League crown after edging DPMM FC II 3-2 in the final game week on Sunday.

Kasuka finished the season without a loss - recording 12 wins and a draw for a total of 37 points.

On the other hand, it is DPMM FC II's only defeat of the season as they finished a point behind in the 14-team table.

Willian dos Santos Silva netted a hat-trick for Kasuka to finish as the league's topscorer with 35 to his name.

The Brazilian put his side ahead in the 19th minute but it only took DPMM FC II two minutes to level through Sergio Mendiguchia Iglesias, who tallied 34 goals in total, at the Jerudong Mini Stadium.

Silva scored his second of the match just after the half hour mark to ensure this team lead at the break.

He completed his hat-trick from the spot in the 76th minute before Luis Matias Hernandez – Miruena pulled one back for DPMM FC II in added time to set up a nail-biting finish.

The winners took home a cash prize of BND $10,000.

Indera SC placed third with 32 points followed by Kota Ranger in fourth five points behind.

MS PPDB round off the top-five with their haul of 25 points.
