THE national football team were swept aside 11-0 by a far superior Russian side in a friendly match on Friday.
The match at the Krasnodar Stadium is the first in Europe for the Wasps and is also the largest winning margin for Russia.
It eclipses their previous record of 9-0 against San Marino in the European qualifiers in 2019.
It was nervy start for Brunei, who are number 184 in the FIFA rankings, as they conceded in the opening minute.

They doubled their lead six minutes later after Nur Ikhwan Othman turned the ball into his own net.
It was 3-0 moments later with Evgeny Morozov putting the ball past Jefri Syafiq in between the Brunei sticks.
They made it four just before the half hour mark with Oblyakov netting his second to the delight of 27,000 home fans in attendance.
The visitors managed to survive a barrage of shots in front of their sticks before they head to the dressing room.
It took the hosts just three minutes after the interval to add to their tally with Lechii Sadulaev finding the back of the net.
Nikita Kristov, Tumerlan Musaev, Andrei Mostovoy and skipper Aleksandr Chrbikov added a goal each before Brunei placed a shot on target in the 73rd minute.

Alexey Batrakov got them into double digits before Arsen Adamov completed the rout.
Russia, who are ranked 34, managed a total of 41 shots in the game with 17 of them on target.
