NATIONAL wushu athlete Mohammad Adi Salihin Roslan created more history after a podium finish at the 3rd Taolu World Cup in Yokohama, Japan.
He bagged Brunei's first ever medal in the competition after finishing second in the men's nangun event on Saturday.
Adi Salihin tallied 9.750 points finishing behind Liu Chang Min of Chinese-Taipei by 0.006 points.
Japan's Akito Matsukawa took the bronze with 9.730 points.
Only the top-eight athletes from the 16th World Wushu Championships held in the USA in November last year qualified to contest in the World Cup.
National wushu coach Li Hui was ecstatic with the results.
"This is the first time that we qualified for the World Cup and we won the silver medal, once again creating history," said Li Hui.
"Coach Zhao Chunjie and I are very satisfied with the performance of our athletes.
"This is 18 years of hard work from scratch and getting on the world stage," added the national coach.
"We experienced countless ups and downs but we never gave up and now finally delivered.
"I am very proud of the athletes and I feel very excited when our flag is raised," he continued.
Meanwhile, Basma Lachkar narrowly missed out on a medal in the women's taijiquan event.
Her performance earned her 9.740 points finishing fourth - 0.006 behind Malaysian Sydney Chin.
Shiho Saito of Japan finished top of the podium with 9.790 points followed by Singapore's Zeanne Law Zhi Ning with her score of 9.770.
Brunei will see action again on Sunday as they look to add to their medal haul.
Walid Lachkar, Hosea Wong, Abel Lim and Majdurano Joel Majallah are the other athletes representing Brunei in Japan.
