AHMAD Taufiq Murni added another trophy to his cabinet after winning the SKY 9-Ball Invitational 2024 in Labuan over the weekend.
The national cueist defeated Indonesia's Rico Herman 10-5 in the final to capture the crown at David's Pool.
Taufiq began his campaign by defeating Jackson 7-1 in his first qualifying match and advanced to the main draw after a 7-3 win over Low Yew Keat.
He then won 7-2 against compatriot Desmond and eased past Low 8-0 in their second encounter to move into the last-eight.
The 36-year-old continued his good form by taking down Ayung Jzee 8-1 to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
He was made to work for a 9-7 victory over Singapore's Darren Young to advance to the title decider.
Besides Taufiq, the trio of Ak Aziz, Muhd Qusyairi Zainuddin and Razzi SS also represented the Sultanate under coach Lim Tat Hwe.
Md Qusyairi was eliminated 7-6 by Young in the last-32 while Ak Aziz by Nelson 7-3 in the round of 48.
The September 25-29 competition attracted a total of 75 participants from Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.
