NATIONAL swimmer Hayley Wong is looking to produce a new best time when she competes in the women's 50m freestyle event at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Saturday.

She recently set the national record at the ASEAN School Games with a time of 27.94 seconds.

She will contest in Heat 4, which is scheduled to begin at 5:08pm (Brunei Time).

"I'm looking to break the record again," said Wong in a recent interview.

"Other than that is to enjoy the whole experience and meet athletes around the world as well as make new friends," she added.

American Caleb Dressel and Australian Ariarne Titmus are the two she is most wanting to meet.

When asked on preparations ahead of the tournament, she replied: "We have been training intensively over the past few months leading up to this and swam in several other competitions.

"Coach (Wu Na) gave us many programmes as well and gym sessions regularly every week," concluded Wong, who started swimming at six years old.
