Sprinter Muhammad Noor Firdaus Ar-Rasyid Hj Idris will be making his second consecutive appearance at the Games.

Zeke Chan and Hayley Wong will be competing in swimming at the July 26 – August 11 Olympics.

This will be the first time that the Sultanate will have a female representative for swimming.

The Bruneian athletes are competing under universality places which the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) and FINA (International Swimming Federation) have opened to countries with no qualified athletes.

HRH in his sabda hopes that the athletes will be able to put up their best performance at the Games and is hopeful that Brunei can qualify on merit in the future.

This is the fourth time – in their seventh outing – that the Sultanate is sending more than one athlete to the Games.
