Wan Sing reach final with comeback win over Propel

WAN SING came from behind to snatch an 86-79 win over Propel Services & Trading on Friday to advance to the final of the YOU.C1000 Cup.

Joven Dungog led Wan Sing with 26 points while Eric Palanca notched 23.

Leonil Espina chipped in 15 in the triumph at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.

On the other hand, Paul Biala started out hot with 13 points in the opening frame went on to finish with a game-high of 28.

Alvin Goh was the other in double figures with 20 to his name in the defeat.

Propel had opened up a double digit lead at 54-44 under five minutes left in the third.

Wan Sing then picked up at the defensive end to snatch the lead just over two minutes later.

They outscored their opponents 20-6 to carry a 64-60 heading into the final frame.

Wan Sing stayed in front most of the way before Lim Jin Shyang knocked down a three in transition with four minutes left to make it 74-73.

Turnovers ultimately saw Propel crumble in the encounter.

With Wan Sing up by two, Propel had secured a defensive rebound after Allen Salvador split his free throws but threw it out of bounds.

Wan Sing used the clock for the possession and Espina got a hoop and harm just as the buzzer sounded.

He connected from the charity stripe to complete the three-point play to make it a two-possession game at 79-74 with 2:24 left.

Propel went empty handed at the other end but Wan Sing gave them hope following an eight-second violation.

Kenny Lim scored a layup but Dungog knocked down a jumpshot at the other end to make it 81-76 with 51.9s remaining.

Propel took a timeout but got nothing out of it. Instead they had to foul to stop the clock but Dungog made no mistake to sink both and make it 83-76.

Kenny Lim then made a three-pointer to give Propel a lifeline.

However, Hansel Enopia was cool as a cucumber as he scored both his foul shots with 24 seconds left to ice the game for Wan Sing.
