THE national fencing team bagged four gold, two silver and one bronze at the Sarawak Invitational Fencing Championships 2024 in Miri over the weekend.
Md Haziq Asahrin bagged the first gold after clinching the men's individual sabre event on Friday.
He defeated Dylan Lee 15-8 in the last-four before dispatching Tony Lee 15-11 in the final.
It was a one-two finish for Brunei in the women's individual sabre event held at Permy Mall the next day.
Hjh Anis Sabrina Hj Yahya finished top of the podium after defeating compatriot Dk Siti Syaherah Pg Idris 15-5 in the title-decider.
The Sultanate claimed the gold in both the men's and women's team sabre event on Sunday.
Md Haziq teamed up with his younger brother Md Anaqi Danish, Adrian Wong and Md Hariz Zakaria to beat IFCM-Selangor 45-33.
The duo of Hjh Anis and Dk Siti Syaherah combined with Nur Amal Nazurah Jalaini and Fatin Nurhayati Hj Mejanie to oust MSN-Sarawak 45-18 for top honours.
Over in the women's team epee event, the squad of Norkhairunnisa Hj Matussin, Nur Alma'iyah Harisah Harrisman Ashady and Nabila Fa'izah Mohammad Hisyam Hii finished runners-up.
They fell 45-28 to MSN-Sarawak.
Lastly, the trio of Harrisman Ashady Hj Ali, Nazri Matjais and Muhammad Rayyan Darwish Bahrin took home the bronze in the men's epee team event.
