CHUNG HWA Middle School (CHMS) BSB clinched third place in the Inter-School Basketball Tournament after defeating International School Brunei (ISB) 86-55 on Saturday.
Denny Kuan topscored for CHMS with 17 points while Toh Yong Min added 14.
Adrel notched 11 and Chin Li Yuan was the other in double figures with 10 in the victory.
On the other side, Sequoia was the only player in double-digit scoring for ISB with 11 points.
The duo of Riley and Dawniel had eight points each in a losing effort.
ISB stuck their noses in front 14-11 at the end of the opening period at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
CHMS struggled from the line but eventually went in front after a trey by Kuan to make it 20-18 with over four minutes left to the break.
It was a see-saw battle for the next few possessions but CHMS eventually stayed ahead 33-29 at halftime.
Riley had to sit out after sustaining an injury to the face early in the third period.
CHMS went on the break to get easy buckets and opened up a double digit lead courtesy of a three-pointer by Adrel at 47-36 midway though.
They extended their cushion to 55-42 at the end of the third.
ISB turned to full court man-to-man pressure defence in the decisive frame.
But it was to no avail as it turned one way street with CHMS attacking in transition to see off their opponents for the bronze.
