GOLDEN GIRLS rebounded with a vital 47-34 victory over BNS in the Propel Women's Cup on Sunday.

Having fallen to their first defeat against Yokohoma the night before, the win keeps them in contention for the title when they face Happy Claw Machine Corners (HCMC) next weekend.

Golden Girls had distributed scoring with three players in double figures.

Tong Sing Ching, who was plagued by foul trouble, finished with a game-high of 14 points.

The duo of Yvonne Ha and Lin Siau Mei added 13 and 12 respectively in the triumph.

On the other hand, Vanessa Pang led BNS with 11 to a losing cause.

Golden Girls had carried a 23-17 lead at halftime at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.

Tong had put up eight points on the board but was forced to sit out after picking up her fourth foul before the interval.

Golden Girls opened up a double digit advantage after a save by Lin leading to a short jumper by Hong Moi Leng to make it 27-17.

BNS then responded with five unanswered points leading to a timeout by their opponents.

Both sides had some good looks but couldn't get their shots to fall.

Golden Girls then capped off a 6-0 run and eventually carried a 33-24 lead into the final frame.

BNS simply had no firepower and were unable to get anything going offensively.

Pang broke the duck with a layup on the break to make it 37-26 before Nadhatul Simaa converted another leading to another Golden Girls timeout.

The game remained within reach but Lin connected on a jumpshot to make it 43-31 with three minutes left.

Lorraine Guinto gave BNS a lifeline with a three-pointer but Tong responded immediately at the other end.

After BNS came up empty handed, Ha would put the game to bed with an easy layup at the other end.
