BASMA Lachkar made history as she became the first Brunei athlete to win a silver medal at the Asian Games on Sunday.
Brunei first participated in the Asian Games back in 1990 and have a total haul of four bronze medals - three of them coming from karatedo and the other from sepak takraw.
The podium finish ended a 21-year wait since the last - courtesy of karateka Tong Kit Siong in Busan, South Korea.

Basma, who co-led Brunei out during the opening ceremony the night before, tallied a total of 19.502 points to finish second in the women's taijiquan and taijijian all-round event.
China's Tong Xin was a level above the rest in the 14-competitor field as she scored 19.696 points at the Guali Cultural & Sports Centre.
Chen Suijin of Hong Kong completed the podium on 19.476.
Basma had placed joint-second with matching 9.746 points with Chen and Singapore's Zeanne Law after the taijiquan event in the morning.

Lim Yee Sean was the other Bruneian who competed in the event.
The 18-year-old produced a good showing with a score of 18.496 points to finish ninth overall.
