LINKTECH advanced to the quarter-finals of the YOU.C1000 Cup despite falling 101-92 against Sawaddee House on Sunday.
The result put Linktech, Sawaddee and FBC all on matching 1-2 win-loss records.
However, Sawaddee needed at least an 18-point winning margin to progress out of Group C on point difference.
They were close as they led by 20 points with over two minutes to play at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
But Linktech put in a final push to cut the deficit to make it out of the group as runners-up.
Sawaddee had distributed scoring with five players in double figures.
Delson Khoo notched 33 points while Phuoh Wee Kit added 21.
The trio of Vincent Tie, Chong Nam and Welfred Phang contributed 14, 13 and 12 respectively.
On the other hand, Michal Emboltrio poured in a game-high of 36 points while Reymundo Maquiraya had 24.
