KON Yee Hung came up huge in the fourth quarter to propel TK Teahouse to a 95-86 win over Easyway in Group A of the YOU.C1000 Cup on Sunday.
He dropped 14 of his 17 points in the decisive frame to help his side erase an eight-point deficit.
Easyway had carried a 74-66 lead going into the final period at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
However, plagued by foul trouble - four of their front court players hit the showers early.
Kon saw the opportunity and was aggressive in cutting to the hoop to score.
The game was deadlocked at 81-81 midway through and Easyway were already out of substitutions.
TK turned it up a notch and Kon put the exclamation point - banking in a trey to make it 90-83 at the 2:48 mark.
Easyway were given a lifeline after Jake Chong connected on a three-pointer to trim the deficit to six but it proved to be a mere consolation.
Elvin Requintin topscored for TK with 24 points, 22 of them coming in the opening half.
They also had good contributions from the trio of Gary Antonio, Joey Dela Pena and Aristeo Fullado with 11 points apiece in the win.
On the other hand, Chong notched a game-high of 25 points to pace Easyway while Jeremy Chu added 18.
Kelvin Chai and Jonathan Lim chipped in 13 and 12 respectively in the defeat.
Easyway still have a chance to advance to the next round.They will require at least a nine-point winning margin against defending champions Fuzhou Shiyyi Association on Saturday.
