ERIC Palanca dropped a game-high of 30 points to power Wan Sing to a 94-81 win over Unity in Group B of the YOU.C1000 Cup on Tuesday night.
It was mainly a two-possession game entering the decisive quarter at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
John Martizano then finally created some breathing space for Wan Sing.
He converted a three-point play to open up a 10-point cushion at 80-70 midway through the frame.
Unity desperately tried to close the gap and hit the next two field goals.
However, Wan Sing replied with an 8-0 run -dice courtesy of Palanca - over the next three minutes to settle the tie.
Cleverson Baguioro also had a good offensive showing with 18 points while Edison Castro added 17 in the victory.
On the other hand, Asyraf Samin topscored for Unity with 16 points.
Jamri Ramlee and Goh Toh Zen were the other two in double figures with 14 and 13 respectively to a losing cause.
