JONEL Terrado hit the game-winning freethrows as D'Barkadz survived a late onslaught to edge Linktech 102-101 in Group C of the YOU.C1000 Cup on Sunday night.
D'Barkadz looked enroute to a comfortable win after leading by 14 points going into the final frame at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
But Linktech turned it on at the defensive end and tied the game at 100 apiece after John Jayzenn split his freethrows with 33 seconds left.
An unsportsmanlike foul was whistled resulting in Terrado hitting both his attempts from the charity stripe.
With ball possession, they wound down the whole 24 seconds but airballed with 7.5 seconds to go.
Reymundo Maquiraya raced down the floor and was fouled as the buzzer sounded.
After a check with the scorers table, the foul stood. However, he made his first and had the second one rim in and out.
Jomarie Corpuz poured in a game-high of 45 points to lead D'Barkadz while Terrado added 28 in the triumph.
On the other hand, Maquiraya notched 43 points to pace Linktech.
Lu Yong and Michael Embotrio were the other two in double figures with 13 and 10 respectively to a losing cause
