There is a new look Easyway for this year's YOU.C1000 Cup.

They have a revamped roster - going with more youth and energy - with the oldest player at 24 years old.

Familiar faces Ben Sim, who is now the national basketball coach, Md Zainul Ashyraf Hj Hussin and Choo Yung Jian are not part of the squad.

The trio of Jeremy Chu, Jonathan Lim and William Ching will replace them for the June 17 - July 15 competition.

Hj Aeide Sowerdey Hj Abu Hassan will lead the way as the Easyway coach and he is focused on themselves.

"With youth and energy present in this team, we should be aiming high but we are not trying to impress anyone," said Hj Aeide in a recent interview with BruSports News.

"We just need to be locked in for every game," he added.

"I've worked closely with each of them since earlier this year. We had to start from scratch and build their chemistry up together as a team; knowing each other's attitude and tendencies.

"From there, the trust and acceptance of the team's system - There's no 'I' in team, but 'we' as a team," he continued.

Easyway have been drawn in group A together with defending champions Fuzhou Shiyyi Association and runners-up TK Teahouse - and Medix being the other.

Hj Aeide is unfazed by the challenge.

"Everyone is talking about it as they call it the Group of Death," said the Easyway coach.

"We never underestimate our opponents and we know they'll give us a hard time too.

"We will Let the game speak for itself. Every team joining the Cup is here to try prove a point on who is the better team," he concluded.

The annual tournament tips off on Saturday with Propel taking on Bandar Rockets in Group B at 7pm.

A repeat of last year's final follows as Fuzhou battle against TK at 8.30pm.
