IT was another successful campaign for the national pencak silat seni team as they bagged one silver and one bronze medals at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.
The women's regu team bagged the silver medal after falling 9.955 - 9.925 against Singapore in the final.
The team of Anisah Najihah Abdullah, Norleyermah Hj Raya and Nur Wasiqah Aziemah Rosimah had advanced into the title decider after defeating the Philippines 9.945 - 9.010 in the semi-finals.
Anisah was disappointed not to finish at the top of the podium but was delighted with the performance.
"It is quite disappointing (not to win gold) but nothing can top that knowing we have worked hard to win a medal," said Anisah in an interview with BruSports News.
"But whatever the result, I am happy that my team and I were able to perform well.
"We want to thank everyone who supported us and do continue to support our athletes representing Brunei at the SEA Games as well," she added.
On the other hand, the bronze medal was courtesy of the men's regu team.
The trio of Md Ali Saifullah Hj Md Suhaimi, Mohammad Hazim Ramliee and Muhammad Haziq Aqwan Md Iman Safwan lost to eventual winners Indonesia 9.965 - 9.910 in the last-four.
Md Ali Saifullah, who was the flag bearer during the opening ceremony, was edged by Singapore's Md Iqbal in the quarter-finals of the men's seni tunggal event on Saturday.
Both registered matching scores of 9.935 but it was the latter who progressed based on standard division point.
In the women's seni tunggal event, it was the same scenario for Wasiqah as she recorded matching scores of 9.940 against Singapore's Siti Nazurah.
The Silat team will now turn their attention to the tanding events.
