WILL it be three podium finishes in a row for pencak silat exponent Anisah Najihah Abdullah at the SEA Games?

Anisah has back-to-back medals - winning bronze in the women's seni tunggal event in 2019 and followed that up with a silver in the regu event last year.

She will once again team up with Nur Wasiqah Aziemah Rosihan and Norleyermah Hj Raya for the latter in Phnom Penh.

But the road back hasn't been the easiest after undergoing surgery on her right knee in September.

"This SEA Games will be different from the last two editions as it is more challenging for me and my team due to my injuries," said Anisah in an interview with BruSports News.

"We have been training continuously since last year.

"But it took me a while to catch up with my team since I only got back to it in December," she added.

When asked on her expectations, Anisah replied: "I haven't set high expectations but I'm hoping to perform well.

"Whatever the result is, I'm already proud of my team. seeing their hard work, effort and determination. That is already a win for me," she added.

Wasiqah will take over the reins for the tunggal event.

She had previously bagged a silver medal at the Sarawak Premier International Silat Championship in March.
