THE Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) hosted an inauguration ceremony for its newly elected executive committee for the term 2023-2025.
Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin attended the event as the guest of honour.
Held at the Mulia Hotel in Berakas, Pehin Goh witnessed the swearing in of the new executive committee.
Goh Kiat Hing was re-elected as the president of the BBA during an election held in November 2022.
In his opening remarks, Kiat Hing extended his appreciation to committee members and long-term sponsors of the association, in particular Hui Huang Enterprise and Low San Hardware as title sponsors of two major basketball tournaments in Brunei.
He went on to thank the BBA team of table officials and referees, who have been instrumental in the success of local competitions.
The BBA president also welcomed several volunteer coaches who have step forward earlier this year to help further develop Brunei Basketball.
In the coming three years, the BBA aims to invest in programmes that will upgrade the skills and capabilities of its coaches and officials.
“By the end of this term, we aim to have FIBA certified personnel in the coach, referee, table official and statistician categories,” concluded Kiat Hing in a press release.
