BRUNEI began their Group A campaign at the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Thailand on Tuesday night.
Brunei goalkeeper Haimie Anak Nyaring put up a commendable performance with several good saves to keep the scoreline close till the final stages of the encounter.
It was almost nightmare start for the Wasps as Thailand came close to opening the scoring 47 seconds into the game.

Thailand asserted their dominance and broke the deadlock in the 19th minute.
Teerasil Dangda put the ball across goal and Bordin had a simple tap in for the lead.
They doubled their advantage just before the interval with Teerasil rising highest to head home.
Thailand couldn't find their way past Haimie despite some good looks in the second half.
Brunei got their only shot of the game in the 76th minute courtesy of Azizi Ali Rahman.
His shot from long range was caught by Thai custodian Kittipong Phoothawchuek.
Brunei crumbled late on to concede three goals in quick succession.
Ak Yura Indera Putera Pg Yunos come off him into his own net in the 89th minute.
He then conceded a penalty the next minute which substitute Peeradol Chamrasamee converted despite Haimie getting his hand to it.
Peeradol then wrapped up the win with a superb strike from 20 yards out.
