EASYWAY blew Yi's Nation out of the water as they erased a 21-point fourth quarter deficit for a 78-73 comeback win to place third in the YOU.C1000 Cup on Friday night.

Five players got into double figures for Easyway with captain Ben Sim leading the way with a game-high of 18 points at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.

Md Zainul Ashyraf Hj Hussin and Darren Hong each notched 13 points while the pair of Brendan Lim and Chris Chiew chipped in 11 apiece.

On the other side, Mak Chia Wee and Soon Kian Leong scored 17 points each for Yi's Nation.

Han Ming Kwang contributed 11 points and Jamri Ramlee was the other in double figures with 10.

Easyway looked down and out as Yi's Nation had opened up a 64-43 lead going into the final frame.

Last year's champions then switched to full court man-to-man defence to outscore their opponents 35-9 in the last 10 minutes.

They scored nine unanswered in the first 60 seconds and stretched that to a 17-0 run before a three-pointer by Han to see the scoreboard ready 67-60 midway through.

Easyway went in front after a trey by Darren Hong to make it 68-67 with just over three minutes left to play.

They led by as many as six points but Yi's Nation were given a lifeline when Chiew missed both his charities with 26 seconds left.

However, Easyway clamped down on defence as Yi's Nation turned the ball over as the clock wound down resulting in the former completing their comeback.
