LE DOUX Patisserie hung on to edge Propel 52-48 in a nail biter in the women's category of the YOU.C1000 Cup on Monday night.
The result means that all three teams in the competition have matching 1-1 win-loss records going into the second round of matches.
Rachael Lee was the topscorer for Le Doux with 14 points while Chieng Hei Yien added 12.
Veteran Chris Tan also got in double figures with her contribution of 10 points.
On the other hand, Vanessa Pang produced a game-high of 21 points to pace Propel while Nadhatul Simma poured in 12 to a losing cause.
The game was neck and neck right from the start as it stayed a two-possession game most of the way at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
Propel carried a 34-32 lead going into the decisive period and scored the first two baskets.
The momentum turned in favour of Le Doux as they scored seven unanswered points.
They opened up a 47-41 advantage after Chieng scored off an offensive rebound with under four minutes to play.
She then finished in transition on the next play to see Le Doux make it a three-possession game.
Propel had trouble cutting the deficit and time was simply not on their side.
The game looked over after Lee split her freethrows to make it 52-45 with 40 seconds left.
However, Pang hit a three-pointer with over 20 seconds left to give Propel a lifeline but it proved only to be a consolation.
The second game saw Chill defeat Yis Nation 61-51 in Group A of the mens category.
