EASYWAY have one hand on the National Basketball League trophy after a 105-70 victory over Yi's Nation V2 tonight.

In a battle between the last two unbeaten teams in the tournament, Easyway were in control from start to finish at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.

Jake Chong produced a game-high of 25 points, which included five treys, to lead Easyway.

Choo Yung Jian also had a good game with 20 points while the duo of Ben Sim and Md Zainul Ashyraf Hj Hussin chipped in 15 and 14 respectively in the triumph.

On the other hand, Ahmad Termizi Hj Noordeen topscored for Yi's Nation V2 with 18 points while the pair of Jamri Ramlee and William Ching contributed 10 apiece to a losing cause.

Easyway came out storming and turned their defence into offence for easy points.

Chong had a good opening period with 10 points while Sim closed out the frame with eight straight points to put Easyway up 35-16.

Yi's Nation V2 were limited to shooting the ball from the outside due to their height disadvantage.

Easyway led by over 20 points most of the way and a straight on three by Chong just before the break gave his side a 56-32 lead at halftime.

All the damage was done in the first half and despite the efforts by Yi's Nation V2, they simply were no match for their opponents in the encounter.

Easyway have two games left on the schedule with a matchup against bottom side Team 409 on Tuesday before taking on Ong Sum Ping three days later.
