BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
BANDAR Estates rained down from three-point territory to thrash a short-handed Superfish 100-54 in Group A of the YOU.C1000 Fuzhou Cup last night.
Ting Heng Lee was hot from downtown knocking down eight treys for a game-high of 27 points to pace Bandar Estates.
Samuel Jong also had a good shooting night for 22 points, including six-three-pointers, in what was their third win at the Fuzhou Shiyyi Association Building in Berakas.
Eric Palanca was also in double figures with 12 points while Richard Chua chipped in 11 in the triumph.
On the other side, Chin Jung Hong was the only player in double digits for Superfish with 24 points to his name in a losing effort.
Superfish only had seven players to start and were undersized compared to their opponents.
Chin was the only one keeping them afloat scoring nine of his side’s points in the opening period to trail 21-11.
Superfish had their chances to close the gap in the second period but were unable to capitalise as they failed to connect on several easy layups.
It was only in the third frame that Bandar Estates pulled away as their opponents simply couldn’t keep up.
Bandar Estates had plenty of second chance opportunities with their offensive rebounds.
Superfish were also unable to close down their shooters and soon saw the lead balloon to 55-32 midway through the period after Palanca split his freethrows.
Bandar Estates then caught fire from range in the final stanza with seven treys - the final three courtesy of Jong including the last one that took a lucky bounce that took them to the century mark.
In the second game, Systematic Living picked up their second win in three games after defeating THEvent.Co109-81.
The competition continues today with Hui Huang facing off against TM Basketball in Group B at 7.15pm.
The second game will see BruPay take on Walltique in the same group at 8.45pm.
