YTE successfully defended their YOU.C1000 Cup title after dispatching FZ-Juramas 86-67 in the Phase 2 final last night.

The biggest difference in the encounter is that YTE managed to get a total of 46 points from their imports as opposed to FZ-Juramas with only 26.

Singaporean import Leon Kwek had a good performance, shooting 53% from the field, to produce a game-high of 20 points including four treys to pace YTE in the win.

The duo of Eric Palanca and Jai Reyes added 14 points each while Indonesian import Galank Gunawan bagged a double-double with 12 points and 19 rebounds.

Elvin Requintin was the other in double figures for YTE with 10 points to his name at the BBA court in Batu Bersurat.

On the other hand, Filipino import Macky Acosta topscored for FZ-Juramas with 18 points.

Alvin Goh, who made three treys in the first quarter, and Esmond Tan were also in double digit scoring with 13 and 12 points respectively in the defeat.

Filipino imports Mike Parala and Allan Mangahas only managed five and four points respectively.

It was an evenly contested opening period with both sides getting it done from behind the arc.

Both sides hit four treys in the frame but it was YTE that stuck their noses in front 27-21 going into the second period.

YTE stayed in the driving seat and the scoreboard read 44-38 at halftime before they then switched gears after the interval.

They took control of the game after they outscored their opponents 24-10 in the 10-minute frame.

FZ-Juramas were not helped by their turnovers and simply had no answer to come back from a 20-point deficit heading into the final quarter to see YTE redeem themselves after their semi-final heartbreak in Phase 1.

Meanwhile, Easyway won the bronze after defeating Setia Builders 97-68 in the third-place playoff.

Present to give away the prizes to the winners was Katherine Hii, the manager of Hui Huang Enterprise.
