FITNESS ZONE - Juramas are labelled as one of the favourites for Phase 1 of the YOU.C1000 Cup especially after coming off winning the all-local BBA Chairman’s Cup in June.

The team is packed with firepower with the likes of seasoned players Esmond Tan, Kevin Tay, Benjamin Lim and Lim Aik Hock in the lineup.

They are complimented by Filipino big man Francis Barcellano, Wu Chun, Alvin Goh, Po Yung Hui, Wong Kim Guan, Han Ming Kwang and Tan Kah Boon.

Despite the strong roster, Alvin has played down the favourties tag and believes all teams have an equal chance.

“Never did I think we would be favourites,” said Alvin in a recent interview with BruSports News.

“It’s everyone’s game and everyone’s a threat,” he added.

“It’s going to be a tough competition, it always is but we just got to give it 100% throughout,” continued the 30-year-old.

They are drawn in group A together with defending champions YTE, Setia Builders, Yuniku and Moldex Realty.

When asked on who the biggest threats are in the competition, Alvin replied: “I’m not too sure as I haven’t seen the line up but generally Easyway, YTE and Systematic Living I heard have a strong line up.”

Alvin also revealed that preparations haven’t exactly been easy for the team due to other commitments.

“Preparations have been a bit difficult with the team as a lot of us have other commitments and priorities,” said Alvin.

“So it comes down to personal conditioning. Majority of this team have played long together so there is good team chemistry,” he concluded.

FZ-Juramas will start their campaign on Monday against Moldex Realty.
