Brunei-Muara A notch third victory

BRUNEI-MUARA A picked up their third win in the National Basketball League after cruising to an 80-61 victory over Temburong last night.

Darren Yap led the way for Brunei-Muara A with a game-high of 20 points while Tan Kun Hor added 16 points.

Captain Ahmad Termizi Noordeen was the other in double figures for Brunei-Muara A with 13 points to his name in the victory at the BBA court in Batu Bersurat.

On the other hand, Harold Mohd Yusuf topscored for Temburong with 15 points while Han Yei Siew chipped in 11 to a losing cause.

Brunei-Muara A got off to a strong start and quickly pulled away for a double digit lead before Temburong settled down.

Yap had the hot hands as he poured in 11 points in the opening frame which included three treys to put Brunei-Muara 23-17 going into the second quarter.

Brunei-Muara A make a field goal for over three minutes in the second quarter allowing their opponents to close the gap to four points.

They finally scored off a layup by Yap and it sparked a 13-0 run. They picked up at the defensive end and saw the lead balloon to 43-25 at halftime.

Brunei-Muara A were in the cruise control from the start of the second half and extended their advantage to as large as 24 points.

They stayed in front by 20 points most of the way enroute to the comfortable victory.
