SAIROL Hj Sahari is back!

The former DPMM FC left-back ruptured his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) back in April 2016 and has returned to playing football - lacing up for Kasuka FC in the DST Super League this season.

After a long road to recovery, Sairol is glad to be back on the field.

“I feel good to be back after almost one and a half years to fully recover,” said Sairol in an interview with BruSports News today.

“It has been tough from day to day for me. I could have stopped playing football but my heart told me not to.

“ I didn’t want to quit just because of this injury and now I’m back on the field,” he added.

“I also want to thank the club’s chairman David Kang, coach Hj Limi and fitness coach Pg Sallehuddin for trusting in me and being part of recovery process.

“Without them I still won’t be able to play,” continued Sairol.

He had played the role as an assistant coach at Kasuka last season but decided to make the switch as he knew he could still play.

They currently lead the 10-team standings of the DST Super League having won their first three games.

They started out with an 11-0 demolition of Setia Perdana on Oct 28 and they followed that up with a 4-0 victory over Najip Bakes FC.

Kasuka then made it a perfect three out of three with a 3-1 triumph over two-time champions Indera SC last Friday.

When asked about their current form, Sairol replied: “We are doing well but there is still a long way to go. We just have to keep the spirit and momentum.

“The environment is good at the club at the moment… teamwork, management and players.

“Credit to the club because we train hard almost everyday. That is the most important thing. Win or lose, we stay together,” added Sairol, who found the back of the net in the last two games.

Kasuka will have their biggest test when they take on three-time defending champions MS ABDB at the Berakas Sports Complex at 9pm tomorrow.

Sairol will not feature in the encounter having been sent off for a second yellow card in the last game.

However, he believes his teammates will execute the game plan accordingly.

“It is a shame that I won’t be able to play against MS ABDB. I wanted to challenge myself against a strong club,” said the defender.

“I expect the players to follow the instructions given by the coach. I’m sure with the players we have, anybody can play and the coaching staff will do their job very well,” he concluded.
