A TOTAL of 83 participants including international elite swimmers have signed up for the Brunei Marathon Swim 2018 happening tomorrow.
A total of 14 swimmers, with one female, are taking part in the 10km event at the Berakas Forest Reserve.
The 5km event attracted a total of 26 swimmers, with also only one female, while the 2.5km event was the most popular with one swimmer more.
On the other hand, the 1.5km event will see 16 swimmers vie for top honours.
Organised by Tri3bn and sanctioned by the Brunei Amateur Swimming Association (BASA), Brunei Marathon Swim is the first international open water swimming competition to be held in the Sultanate.
The 10km category will be the first to flag off at 6.05am.
The fastest times of the day, recorded by official timing chips, will be taken as the national record in their respective categories.
In addition, BASA will also be sending two open water officials, who have undergone the FINA course, to oversee the competition.
Meanwhile, a beach festival will also be held from 8am - 5pm in conjunction with the event where you can find drinks, activities, merchandise, crafts and souvenirs.
