JHY Enterprise progressed into the final of the GHK Trophy basketball tournament after dispatching BruGames 73-57 last night.

They will face Amigos, who defeated tournament namesakes GHK 72-59 in the other last-four matchup, in the final tonight at 8.45pm.

Lim How (featured pic) had a strong outing for JHY with 25 points while Soo Chee Yuen added 13 to his name. The duo of Cheah Yong Sin and Yee Cheng chipped in 11 each in the win at the Tutong Chung Hwa basketball court.

On the other hand, Lim Liang Wei carried BruGames offensively with a game-high of 27 points to a losing cause.

It was a closely contested opening period and Lim How didn’t need much time to heat up to score 12 points to put his team up 20-14 going into the second quarter.

BruGames struggled to get things going offensively from the outside and it allowed JHY to extend their advantage to 41-28 at halftime.

It drizzled for a bit during the interval resulting in the match being stopped just over a minute into the second half.

It resumed shortly but things didn’t change for the better for BruGames as JHY utilised their height advantage and attacked the paint to score.

They also dominated the boards for second chance points to see the lead balloon to 60-42 at the end of the third stanza.

BruGames deployed man-to-man defence to start off the fourth period and it helped shift the momentum in their favour.

JHY called a timeout after back-to-back baskets by Samuel Jong to help BruGames trim the deficit to 62-48 three minutes into the frame.

However, that’s closest things got as BruGames turned the ball over too many times to really mount a comeback.

The third place playoff between BruGames and GHK will be contested at 7pm.
