BRUNEI continued their fine form at the 3rd Brunei Open Fencing Championship 2018 after winning one gold, one silver and two bronze medals on the third day of the tournament earlier today.
Hjh Anis Sabrina Yahya delivered Brunei their fourth gold in the tournament after beating fellow compatriot Dk Siti Syahirah Pg Idris in the women's individual sabre final at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
Ken Soraya Ananta Tantri Budi and Azzeldine Aliya Zahira Hisnindarsyah of Indonesia settled for the joint-bronze as losing semi-finalists..
Indonesia dominated the men's individual epee when Anggi Williansyah defeated his countryman Muhammad Dwi Wahyu in the final for the gold, while Bruneians Muhammad Hafizzi Ilah and Ak Ahmad Zaim Pg Idris both claimed the bronze medals.
The tournament will continue tomorrow with the team events: women's epee, men's sabre and men's foil.
Organised by the Brunei Darussalam Fencing Federation, the tournament is supported by the Youth and Sports Department the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
