DPMM FC will be boosted by the return of Rafael Ramazotti ahead of the Singapore Cup quarter-finals against Home United FC.
The two-time defending S.League topscorer hasn’t featured for the Brunei side since picking up an injury in June.
Ramazotti is glad to be back and is looking forward to the competition - where they will play the first leg tonight at the Jalan Besar Stadium followed by the second at the Bishan Stadium three days later.
“It's a great feeling. I'm so happy to be back, to be available again and to have recovered well,” said Ramazotti in an interview with BruSports News on Friday.
“I'm excited to be back and to do what I love most in my professional life.
“The preparations for RHB Cup and the S.League have been very good,” he added.
“We have worked hard and we are pushing ourselves to get out of this situation.
“Now a new cup begins and I hope we can have a little luck and regain our confidence,” continued Ramazotti.
The last time the two sides met resulted in DPMM FC’s largest ever defeat in the S.League with a 9-3 scoreline at the Bishan Stadium in on May 25.
Ramazotti, who is the team’s leading scorer this season with five goals to his name, is not too worried about their opponents but more towards themselves.
“Independent against who we will play, all the games are difficult. The most important thing is to keep working and try to regain confidence. Because we have lost to ourselves and not to adversaries,” said the 29-year-old.
“We have practically the same team that was (S.League) champion in 2015, (League Cup) runner-up in 2016 and certainly no one unlearns how to play football. Only thing we need is to regain confidence!” he added.
“I wish we will be able to finish the season stronger, that I can go back to making goals to help my teammates and try to win the most games as possible,” he concluded.
The matchup will be the first time since May 13 that DPMM FC will be able to lace up all three imports for a game with the Chilean duo of Vincent Salas and Daud Gazale also available for selection.
