DPMM FC are high on confidence ahead of their The New Paper League Cup semi-final match against Warriors FC tonight.

The Sultanate’s only professional club have discovered their good form in the League Cup campaign recently - winning twice and drawing once - to top Group B to progress into the last-four of the competition.

In an interview with BruSports News, DPMM FC skipper Rosmin Hj Md Kamis said that their recent brilliant form has given the team a boost ahead of the clash at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore and believes that they can make it into Friday’s final.

“We are in a good spirit… everyone feels good since the start of this League Cup campaign,” said Rosmin.

“We just need to keep the momentum going and we are now in a great form… I believe that we can reach the final in this tournament.

“We have met Warriors FC twice and lost both of the matches in S.League… but tonight will be a different game, we are confident that we can get the win,” he added.

The captain also added that winning the League Cup title could help boost his team, to at least improve their campaign in the S.League where they currently lie second-from-bottom with just one win and one draw from 11 matches.

Warriors defender Emmeric Ong will not be taking their opponents lightly as he is aware of their recent rise in form.

“I wouldn’t say we’re worried, it’s more of being wary,” said the 26-year-old.

“They’ve been playing well in the League Cup which we’re obviously aware of.

“The first game which we won (5-3 at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in April) was very open but they looked like a very different team when we beat them (1-0 at Choa Chu Kang in early July),”

“So it’ll definitely be a very close affair again,” he added.

Warriors will miss first-choice goalkeeper Hyrulnizam Juma’at due to accumulating two yellow cards in the group stage while DPMM FC will still still be missing the services of injured striker Rafael Ramazotti.

DPMM FC have won the tournament for a thrice, winning it in 2009, 2012 and 2014.
