KOTA Ranger FC moved back to the summit of the DST Super League with a 4-0 victory over Lun Bawang yesterday.
The result was the third consecutive win in as many games bringing them to nine points in the 11-team table displacing Kasuka FC, who are three points behind and have a game in hand, to second place.
Defending champions MS ABDB (Royal Brunei Armed Forces), who also have a game in hand, are also on six points together with Wijaya FC, who have played two games more.
After a goalless first half, Md Abu Bakar Mahari broke the deadlock three minutes after the interval at the Balapan Track and Field at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
It was 3-0 after quick goals from Ak Akid Arif Sujono and Md Fathurrahman Embran in the 70th and 71st minutes.
Md Abu Bakar then netted his second of the match in the 83rd minute, bringing his tally to a league-high six goals, to complete the win.
The other match saw Menglait FC edge MS PDB (Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council) 2-1 at the Tutong Sports Complex last night.
Menglait got off to a great start and went in front in the ninth minute but it was cancelled out by Md Fakhrol Tamimi Hj Sahari five minutes before the interval.
Md Nazirul Azim Hj Annuar then put Menglait back in front in the 62nd minute and it was enough to seal the first win for his side.
The result moved Menglait up to eighth position with three points from three games while MS PDB are in sixth place with just a point more and on better goal difference from Jerudong FC.
The competition will now take a break and resume in July.
