KOTA Junior leapfrogged Shah United FC into second place in the Brunei Futsal League 2017 after coming out on top 3-1 in their meeting last night.
The two-time defending champions are now on 10 points from five games and are ahead by a better goal difference from Shah United, who have played a game more.
Arbisyam FC lead the eight-team standings with 17 points from five wins and two draws.
Maziri Maidin gave Kota Junior the lead just four minutes into the encounter before Mohammad Nor Azizam Roslan doubled their advantage in the 12th minute.
Fakhri Hj Bangkul pulled one back for Shah United with just over a minute left before halftime at the Multipurpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
Kota Junior then put the game to bed with just over two minutes left courtesy of Mohd Sharifuddin Marji.
The earlier game saw MS ABDB (Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council) win their second straight in as many days with a 4-0 victory over Najip FT.
Sjn (U) Saifulazmi Awg Zaini scored two goals while Lt (U) Ahmad Wafiy Muhammad and Lkpl (U) Mohammad Zairul bagged one each in the triumph.
