DEFENDING champions Tabuan A got their season off to a spectacular start after a 5-0 thumping of Projek Ikan Pusu (PIP) in the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Under-16 Youth League opener yesterday.
Zainol Arriffin, Aisan Aizuddin, Shafiq Hidayat, Aminuddin Hj Masri and Eddy Shahrol all found the back of the net for Tabuan A in the victory at the Berakas Sports Complex.

The other game at the NFABD Artificial Field saw Hawa FT edge Tabuan B 1-0 after a goal courtesy of Muhammad Syukri.
Supported by FIFA, the tournament will run over two round robin stages and is expected to end in November.
Present as the guest of honour to officiate the opening ceremony of the tournament yesterday was the NFABD Acting Deputy President, Hj Madli Hj Md Yusof.
The competing continues on tomorrow with several matches to be held at venues such as Berakas Sports Complex, Menglait Field ‘A’ and ‘B’, Sungai Kebun Sports Complex and the NFABD Artificial Field.
All the teams competing this year will also be vying for top honours in the NFABD Youth Cup which is expected to run in August.
The objectives of organising the NFABD Under-16 Youth League among others include providing knowledge to the coaches of teams and provide them opportunities to familiarise with coaching which will enable them to create programmes.
The league also serves to provide playing time for the players. It also acts as a development programme as well as a platform for players, those aged 16-18, in their preparation for the SEA Games and other international tournaments.
