THE National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Under-16 Youth League will return on March 10.
Supported by FIFA, the tournament will be competed over two round robin stages and is expected to end in November.
The competition will be competed at four venues: Berakas Sports Complex, Menglait Field ‘A’ and ‘B’, Sungai Kebun Sports Complex and the NFABD Artificial Field.
Only those who were born in 2001, 2002 and 2003, are allowed to register for the participating teams in the tournament.
In addition to the NFABD Under-16 Youth League, the participating teams will also be vying for the NFABD Youth Cup which is expected to run in August.
The objectives of organising the NFABD Under-16 Youth League include providing knowledge to the coaches who will be coaching the under-16 teams and give them opportunities to familiarise with coaching, which will enable them to create programmes.
The league also serves to provide playing time for the players. It also acts as a development programme - a platform for players aged 16-18 in preparations for the SEA Games and other international tournaments.
